Coppicing is also a way to manage woodlots. The stump resprouts and you get bigger growth, faster than trying to grow wood from a young, small tree.

No one ever mentions the problem oh “cannas taking over a flower bed”. Left alone, they spread like wildfire. And if you ever want to get rid of them, digging the up is just the first step. Any part of the rhizome left will come up the next spring. You’ll be digging for two or three springs. They are best grown and contained in pots.

Beautiful. I just ran out of last year's tomato & pizza sauce, though I do have about 6 pints of salsa left. I'm growing even more paste tomatoes this year in hopes to put up over a year's worth, but a surprising favorite from last year's garden is the Swiss Chard (16 pints) and the Beet Greens (16 pints). I wasn't sure if I should can or freeze them, but boy oh boy am I glad I chose pressure canning! All the little seedlings are up and it's time to plant tators and onions! I'm oh so excited for this year's garden. I grew up watching this show...lifelong Okie! ❤🌱
